Change can be a GOOD thing

Well hello there--

This is Jason Cannon with Ibis Books, and today is all about preparing you for what's about to come.

I've been teasing the last few weeks that changes were a-brewin', and now it's time to start sharing them!

Over the past several months, inspired by many messages from you--my awesome readers--I have been rethinking the mission and approach of both Ibis Books and this weekly newsletter.

The result is a new multi-faceted service for storytellers of all stripes, whether that story is written or performed.

Check it out...

Snazzy!

I won't get into every single change this week, but here are three key highlights.

Highlight 1: This Weekly Newsletter

While I'll still be sharing updates on publishing and events from Ibis Books, the focus of this newsletter will turn toward inspiration and practical advice for authors, playwrights, actors, directors, memoirists, and public speakers.

So if you create worlds with words? PAGE & STAGE will be your weekly kick in the pants!

But PAGE & STAGE is also for readers and audience members. Many of you are longtime enthusiasts of my various work, and you are VITAL.

Art requires witness. Storytellers need story receivers. What's the point of building word-worlds if no one visits?

So this new PAGE & STAGE newsletter will not only be full of tips and tricks for practitioners, but also insights and secrets for those of you who want to peek behind the scenes and under the keyboards.

So, next week (that would be February 23), watch for this newsletter to come in under a new PAGE AND STAGE email address. That's not spam. That's me!

Highlight 2: Ibis Books

Ibis will still be publishing, still selling, still seeking out new authors and playwrights. But the address has changed.

Ibis Books now lives at IbisBooks.shop. Gone is ibis-books.com. Down with dashes in web addresses!

Basically--word play alert!--you can think of Ibis Books as the publishing wing of Page & Stage.

It's ok if you groaned as you read that. Heck, I rolled my eyes as I typed it. :)

Highlight 3: The Page & Stage PODCAST!

Oh my gosh I am SO excited about this. I'm recording my premiere next week (just wait till you hear who my special guest is going to be!), and episodes will start dropping in March. There's even a dang cover that you'll be able to see wherever you get your podcasts!

See? I told you I was excited!

It's going to be an interview format, and I'll be discussing all the nitty-gritty aspects of storytelling with writers, actors, directors, and anyone else with cool things to share about the creative process. It's going to be so much fun.

And there's even MORE coming with PAGE & STAGE, which I'll share with you as we go along, never fear.

See you next week, and remember I'll be popping up in your inbox under that fancy new PAGE & STAGE email.
